I went from dealing with one of the WORST weeks I've had in a long time, with the students barely listening to me at all and Ms. W writing to my supervisor expressing her "worries that I will not be able to handle the discipline of her class and the transition periods" based on what she had seen so far. For my last education class before student teaching, we get matched with 2-4 students in second to fifth grade to tutor Monday and Wednesday afternoons in reading. They even are careful to match the level of the kids so that we can plan lessons that will work well. Then we're given a small room to decorate and coached a little on the lessons.
